Publisher's note:For the years that I was growing up, Southern Living magazine was a constant fixture in our house. When my wife and I moved to Georgia over 15 years ago, Mom went back through her old issues and cut out articles about our new home that she felt I would be interested in. I still have those articles.

What a pleasant surprise! In the February, 2000 issue of Southern Living (site), About North Georgia was featured in a article highlighting the magazine's choices for the top 8 Georgia travel sites. We are in some great company on this list, including the Georgia Department of Industry, Trade, and Tourism, and Georgia on my mind, and we are one of only two regional sites in the state to make the list (the other regional site covers coastal Georgia).

When the web site visitor results were in for the month of February, 2000 we were even more surprised. Independent web-site traffic experts PC Data On-line (now part of Juniper Media Metrix), who rank site popularity based on the number of unique visits per month, had About North Georgia at number 6,219, easily our best ranking ever (see results below). This means that out of millions and millions of individual domains, About North Georgia finished in the top 7,000!

When we began this venture in 1994, we had no idea how popular the site (or
the web) would become. We would like to thank Southern Living for letting so many people know "About North Georgia," but more importantly, we would like to thank our many visitors who have made this site one of the top regional sites in the nation.
