If this review sounds a little bias, it should. Mr. Garrison has long been a personal favorite. This entry is more of a personal journey than a retelling of the intricate details of the campaign, and it works. The photos are mostly National Archive stuff, but Mr. Garrison has the knack of keeping the reader involved using words, not pictures. For example, the book starts with a description of the founding of Atlanta, long before the Civil War.

Solid entry in the Atlanta Campaign field, features much of the collection at Kennesaw Mountain National Military Park. The maps are very good and the book does an excellent job of explaining a complicated battle.
