County:Catoosa City:Ringgold Type:Roadside Built in the 1930's by the WPA, this park and four others commemorate William Tecumseh Sherman's Atlanta Campaign. At this small enclosure made entirely of local material, a marker describes the geography of Northwest Georgia and gives a brief overview of the campaign itself. The bronze marker was cast at Georgia Tech. The park is in the area of the Battle of Ringgold Gap, fought as a rear-guard action by Patrick Cleburne.
Location: Directions: I-75 exit 348, east on highway 151 to U. S. Highway 41 south (right), 1/2 mile on right (at top of hill). Additional information: The park has picnic facilities.
